Mantrailing
A long time and many dogs ago, I started search and rescue training with Squirt. I had to quit not because he was bad at it. Squirt was a natural. I did not have the time to devote to it.
Many years and dogs later, I found out about the sport version called Mantrailing. With mantrailing its a sport so we can take breaks when life gets busy or when it gets too hot in Texas.
I love this sport because we can adapt it to all dogs and and people abilities. We teach the dogs to find people using their amazing sniffing ability. It starts simple and gets more complex as the dogs progress. The dogs run one at a time, so dogs who are fearful and or reactive to other dogs can play. Older dogs, scared dogs, tripods and more can still play.
